A and J are 15 year-old twins. A was out with friends on Friday and J was at home with me after she got back from her volunteer job (her best bud is out of town with family). J was bored, so she decided to launder her bedding. To my surprise, she also stripped her sister's bedding and washed that as well. Then she came with me to look at furniture online while waiting for the washer and dryer. She said, "I'm glad I have something good to do with you because... I'm twinless." And she looked kind of sad. Aw. My sweet babies. I'm so glad they love each other.
I know the 'twinless' feeling, but it's in a different way. I didn't have a twin or anyone else to whom I was very special (at least not anyone safe). J's look and statement pulled my heart very painfully until I realized how different her situation is from mine. And then we looked at lots of furniture together and planned a new living room.
