The Dog is a Genius

The alpha dog outsmarted the husband yesterday and ran him ragged while I was sleeping. The dogs are trained to ring a bell when they need to be taken outside to go potty. They love to play outside and they are madly in love with my husband (further evidence of their intelligence), and so, the alpha, having had a generous taste of spending quality time with the dear man, decided that he needed to go potty very, very often and he rang the bell accordingly. The hub noticed that no potty was produced on most of these many outings. When I woke up, he told me what things had been like and asked me what we should do. I slammed some coffee, rubbed at my bleary eyes for a bit, observed the situation and then informed the hub that he was being scammed by a dog. Now after they do their business, we put the bell out of their reach for a little while and then put it back when they are not looking.

This should probably not be the case, but I totally LOVE me some dog who is smart enough to scam the humans. But but but... I AM one of the humans! The dogs have cast a witchy love-spell. Perhaps this is why I cook for them.
