The earthquake in Haiti never happened.

I read a news article about orphans in Haiti. A nine year-old girl named Ana is mentioned. The poor child had been living with her older sister and though a volunteer located her, the sister will not take her back now because conditions are so much worse for her and her own children after the earthquake. What earthquake? Poor Ana has been so traumatized that she doesn't even remember any earthquake. Certainly, in spite of being surrounded by the devastation, if there is no memory, then there could not have been an earthquake, right? What is the matter with that poor, dumb child? Why is she unhappy? Maybe some nice American idiot * (scroll down to the highlighted portion of the link) will adopt this girl and give her that bit of wisdom. Or when she cries for her family, maybe the orphanage director should just tell her to stow it and think happy thoughts. All she really needs is a positive attitude and some yoga. I gotta hand it to the kid, though. She is doing her damnedest to live entirely in the present moment, the here and now, or whatever else any lying therapist wants to call it. The kid is a true genius. Old Guy would be so fucking proud of her! She'd be fine now if she would just quit whining. People would like her better then and it would keep her from losing anyone else in the aftermath of the non-existent earthquake. Come on, kid. You can do it! So what if it makes you stupid and a victim of future traumas? You will forget those traumas when they're over, too, because they won't be the present moment anymore! And there are SO many oranges waiting to be mindfully peeled... The world is your oyster.

  1. Did I mention that Susan Clancy lives in exile in a foreign country due to death threats? I usually appreciate an abundance of ideas, but (*blush*) her exile makes me proud to be an American. Don't come back here you pedophile-loving bitch. Your own people don't want you because you told what *you* think is the truth. Now you know how the other half lives. Enjoy! (And please drink the water straight from the tap where you live. It's good for you. I promise.)

  2. I was reading about Victor Frankl, a psychiatrist who was in a concentration camp during WWII. He survived by "mentally escaping" ie; dissociating. He couldn't live in the moment, the moment was too evil and horrible. So he lived in another world inside of his head. And guess what, it is what got him through the ordeal. No one ever said to him, "Victor - let's practice mindfulness. How about some meditation?"

He went on to become a world renowned author and doctor, and the founder of logotherapy.

  3. What some poor children go through should never happen to a living soul.

  4. Susan Clancy is a fucking idiot! And I have never forgotten what he did...and I suppose if I had, it would make my upcoming trip to the midwest even worse.

I distracted - fought - screamed - and tried to fuck my way out of "it" but it's always there...

    Until I die...which I hope is soon

  5. Far as I'm concerned she can take her book and stick it where the sun don't shine.
