One of the twins dislocated her knee at school again. Back to the doctor for us. Yup. I have to take my now teenage girl to a doctor and physical therapy. That ought to be interesting.
She can't sleep in her own bed for a while because she has the top bunk. The other twin does not want to trade because she's afraid she will fall getting down and dislocate her knee, too. The injured child is in my bed. I am on the sofa. There is plenty of room for both of us in my bed, but there was an interesting and depressing conversation when I told her she could sleep with me.
"I don't want to sleep with you. You scream in your sleep and it's scary," said injured twin A.
"You did it again this morning, Mommy. You were screaming really loud like you were getting attacked and killed or something," said twin J.
"Yeah," said twin A. "I guess you have really bad nightmares."
"Yeah. And you scream in your sleep really bad," said twin J.
"That's because I sleep in hell," said I, with a maniacal grin and my spooky raised hands clenched into wriggling claws. "Mwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!"
At least they laughed.

I am prone to nightmares too. It's better than it used to be but in many ways that's because I've shut off my feelings rather than dealing with it. I'm sorry it's so difficult to rest. It sucks!

ReplyDeleteOh! Poor baby!
ReplyDeleteKnee problems suck!!
My daughter surprises me sometimes with her perceptions/insights into my inner workings...
I'm always surprised by how understanding she is about me not being quite like most of the other moms.
Hi Lynn...I am a bit dim and didnt realize the new blog name I was seeing was yours. I will change it on my blog now, because I left a message on your old one a while ago, and was confused because I didnt get a response. Not like you.
ReplyDeleteSorry about your poor babe. Hope you can sleep comfy in your bed again. Its 6:2o AM...so my post may be off kilter.
