It's been a very bad night. I tried to get the dogs to sleep with me to help things, but they are just too excitable. I got them to jump up on the bed, but they are a little bit too rowdy to be able to fall asleep with. They licked all the lotions off of my face and hands and then proceeded to plop down on me and squish my innards. They weigh 75 pounds each. They are big boys. And they wiggled and whined a lot, too. I tried explaining that that is not how this sort of thing is supposed to go and how we are supposed to form a puppy pile and not act like I'm different just because I'm not a dog, but they don't get it. They don't understand like Lady did. I was her puppy when I was little and she did her best to protect me. They are not Lady. But I still love them. They are good boys. But I miss Lady. It's been almost forty years and yet I miss her. She was a good dog. Like a mother, really. I still need her, but she is long dead. Par for the course, eh?

  2. I'm sorry that your sleep was so unrestful...hopefully they will calm some.

I house sat/lived with a family that had three indoor cats and two dogs...the evening was awful. Want to come in and out of the bedroom. Finally, I just shut them all out. But, the house was a tri floored home...they played and ran all night!! But, I loved them all.
