:-) And sounds kick-ass, too!
Mommy DOES read music. I know, Mommy, but you don't play guitar. True enough. Yeah, I guess this baby is going to get guitar lessons. I know a dream when I hear one. I had a dream once. You know how kids in really shitty homes dream of running away and joining the circus? Well, I had a dream of taking my French horn and running away to join the symphony orchestra. Yes, I was a bit of a nerd, but I also had first chair in the horn section at the middle school and played the French horn solo for the high school production of Peter and The Wolf while still in middle school (the local high school's horn section had been laid to waste by Mononucleosis). And so I dreamed... Could I pretend to be a grown-up and secure a chair in the symphony? That dream kept me alive when things were bad. I dreamed that I could do it. I didn't, of course. Trauma took me over. But my baby doesn't have that problem. If she wants to be the best guitar player she can possibly be, no matter what she decides to do with it, then so be it. She will get her lessons. And she will get her dream guitar, too.

And me? I'm finally going to sleep. Perchance to dream.

Maybe this time it will be a good dream.

I didn't know that you played french horn! My mom does (did), too. That is a beautiful-sounding instrument.... :)
ReplyDeleteWow French Horn! I played it for about a week. It only has 3 keys, so I couldn't play the right notes. I'm impressed.
ReplyDeleteI hope you had good dreams...I hope...hope...hope... I always wanted to play the piano- and sing. Of course I never got too. I smiled when I was reading this post...remembering the times I used to spend at my friend Missy's house when she would play the piano and we would sing You light up my life" - and when my gramma would take me to her sister's house, my aunt Martha's, and her son, Lee, would play "In the Mood" - that Jazz number? Thank you...This is the first time I've smiled today...
ReplyDeletethe first time...maybe in 2 days...
LC, yes, I love the tone of it because it is so mellow and rich.
ReplyDeleteHarriet, I can see how the three keys might throw a person. For some reason I always had good luck with the heavy wind instruments. Hot air, anyone? Hee hee. Yep. I'm a windbag.
:-)
Grace, you know how I love your sweet smile. I'm so glad to have helped you smile. I hope you get well soon, honey.
