It's official. It's the swine flu. I'm sincerely glad no one in this house has any serious medical conditions and that we are all fortunate enough to have good immune systems. I'm sure we'll be fine. Not surprisingly, my personal complication, as always, is anxiety. The muscle aches have been a bit sucky, too, especially considering that their timing coincides with overdoing things in a big way (yes, I freaking injured myself with idiocy and stubbornness). Maybe things will be easier in a few days when I feel more certain that all of the children are really and truly going to be okay.
Note to self -- Knock it off. The husband has recovered and you passed your immune system super powers on to your children. And your muscle aches are not some fatal and mysterious disease. You hurt yourself and you have the flu. Quit spazzing already. Sheesh. Don't be a wuss.

holy crap! well at least you are all getting treatment (if needed) and the kids seem to be resilliant.
ReplyDeleteIt will be okay. It really is not any worse than the regular flu. Which is not to say that anyone is being a wuss for feeling lousy when they have the flu, just that the whole swine flu thing has been over-hyped.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon. Try not to be so hard on yourself.
Do you have the swine flu, one of your kids, or both? We hear so much about it but I have not known anyone before now that has had it.
ReplyDeleteI feel hopeful that you will all be fine and then hopefully be immune to anymore occurrences!
Hi, Xmichra. Yes, thankfully we do seem to have physical resilience.
ReplyDeleteAll good points, Lily.
We all have it, Tamara. My littlest is mostly asymptomatic, but it seems unlikely to me that her cough is unrelated. The kids all have Tamiflu. The husband and one of the twins seem to be pretty much over it. Yesterday was the worst day of it for the other twin, and I simply need a little rest. I did my 'last man standing' thing all week to take care of people (all the while trying to convince myself that I only have the flu like the others and am not dying - which seems a stupid complication because I didn't get very sick).
And it seems the other twin is well, now, too. I tried to take a nap, but there is a baseball game on and it's causing a ruckus in here like always. I gave up on the nap when a commercial came on (they inspire boredom) and things got louder. I woke up to laughter and shouts of "Mommy! J tried to bite my big toe! Can you make cookies?"
ReplyDeleteIt sounds mild, I'm so glad about that!
ReplyDeleteWow, I am sorry to hear that you all came down with the swine flu. Glad that everyone is recovering quickly. I hope that you are able to get the rest you need so that you can heal.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Tamara
Fuckin hell.
ReplyDeleteI posted a piccie on my blog (from the aeroplane) which I dedicate to you and yours.
I am sending my bestest vibes to you and the girls.
xx.
Thanks, Tamara.
ReplyDeleteHi, K! You knew I would love that pic, didn't you? Well, I do.
I'm glad it's mild, too, Amanda. And I'm hoping we will have immunity if a nastier strain comes this fall.
ReplyDeleteYes I did know!
