I have an idea for a series about one very specific aspect of dealing with a certain dissociative disorder. I still can't type out the name of it on this blog, but I recently came clean to the husband. I had to be drunk in order to do it and I cried a lot, but I did it. I sobbed, "It's not like what you see in the movies! It's not like that. I'm not crazy!" And... yeah, I sounded crazy when I told him all that stuff.
*sigh*
As you all know, I am a train wreck in many ways. And not so much in other ways. I figure that makes me a lot like other people. Nearly everyone is crazy when you get right down to it. And yet we all have something that we are good at or feel like we have figured out to some extent. It is one of these areas in which I am comparatively proficient that would be the subject of my proposed blog series. I guess what I want to know is whether anyone would be interested in reading about my own personal experience and (totally subjective) thoughts on the topic.
Here is the preliminary outline. Please tell me if you think anyone might be interested in reading such a series of posts. (And please be kind even if you think it's not a good idea. If I were brimming with self-confidence about being accepted and listened to in the face of being so open, then I would not have made this post.)
Outline: The Protector Series
1. An Introduction -- Coming out of the Closet
2. Discovering ‘The Presence”
3. Protector vs. Introject -- The Origin of a Protector (And Can You Simply ‘Decide’ or Must You ‘Discover’?)
4. Educating a Protector (With the utmost respect, lest he, she or it kick your butt.)
5. The Role of Co-Consciousness
6. The Mind-Body Connection and Physical Metaphors -- What if Your Immune System can Mimic a Protector (or an Introject)?
7. Protectors and Self-Talk
8. Living in Co-Conscious Harmony a Prerequisite for the “I-word”?
9. A Final Word – Meeting Yourself Where You Are
