1. I slept for ten hours Tuesday night/ Wednesday morning after therapy. I haven't done that in a very long time and I desperately needed the rest.
2. The teenage girl did not appear during the session, though it is she who most needs the help right now. Rambo appeared on her behalf to offer himself up as her 'translator' (he loves her so much). Jenny misunderstood the therapist's reaction to him and she was worried. Thankfully, she was able to use me to clarify with the therapist. The whole thing was awkward. I didn't understand what was happening. Now I do. Thanks to New Guy's willingness to communicate outside of session. But it pains me to realize that nearly half of my system does not know New Guy.
3. The dreams in that long sleep were funny and obvious metaphors for the dissociation that made the session confusing for me. I dreamed that my husband and I (Rambo and I) went out to eat. We sat down at a table that had not yet been wiped off from the previous diners (little girls) even though they and their dishes were gone. The hostess (New Guy) brought dessert because she didn't understand that we were different customers from the ones who had been at the table ahead of us. She served the dessert on the bare table and we had to tell her that we were new customers and that the table had not been washed. And that we did not want dessert because we were new and different customers and had not yet had any dinner. I feel as if this dream should make me want to cry, but right now it doesn't.
4. I don't know what to do about Halloween. I usually give away toothbrushes, but I don't feel like going to several stores to get enough of them right now. I am thinking of various things that I can get enough of in one store. So far the list of possibilities includes raisins, granola bars, sugarless gum and crayons. Can you think of any other things kids might like in their Halloween bags besides candy? I would LOVE to hear your healthful and kid-friendly suggestions.

I don't know if the kids in your area would be happy with it, but we used to get pennies and nickels..... No calories, no tooth decay. Does require going to the bank, but that would only be one place as opposed to several.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of crayon's for Halloween. I might just go to the dollar store and see what I can find. Encouraging creative is such a good thing. I'm glad you finally got some sleep. I was really getting worried about you. The new guy sound like he is really helping you. Take care. Wanda
ReplyDeleteI am sorry, I come up only with unfriendly ideas. It never did take root here and since the American garrison is gone ...
