You know how I bitch readily when I feel screwed over? And you know how I always bitch about being taxed disproportionately because I'm a landlord? Well, I also react when someone does something good. Guess what? Some IRS worker has decided to give my husband a new tax credit that we didn't know he could take! And we got some of our payout back! This is astonishing to me. It just is. And it's perfect timing. The work van needs a water pump and it's summer now, too. Summer means increased entertainment expenses to keep the children happy and provide them with outings and good things to do and it is also when the husband's business slows down (just a couple of the reasons summer makes me nervous). And I still have tuition payments in summer because we are on a twelve month payment plan. We have a vacant rental right now, too. And it will take a few more weeks of work and several hundred more dollars to ready for renting. Still looking forward to the death of the fleas so someone other than the exterminator can go inside. IRS worker, whoever and wherever you are - THANK YOU FOR BEING DECENT. Bless you. This gesture of humanity not only makes up for last year's headache, it actually helps alleviate some of the trauma from the time you folks audited me and nearly caused a nervous breakdown when I was already on the brink.
(p.s. I had a nice appointment with Old Guy, too.)
Okay, blog friends! I need your help. Let's imagine something really nice happening to this faceless IRS worker, shall we? Let's leave our wishes in comments. I'll go first.
(p.s. And can you leave a nice wish for Old Guy, too? Please?)

IRS worker - if you are single, I hope you meet the man or woman of your dreams this summer. If you are not single, I think you should win the lottery. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteOld Guy, I hope you will soon have a really, really special day with your wife, son, dog and anyone else you would want in your special day. I hope it will be the kind of day that you will always remember as being beyond wonderful.
IRS worker - I hope that some random person stops in your office and does something nice for you today!
ReplyDeleteAnd, Old Guy, I hope that you have a season of peace and good weather for whatever is on your schedule this week.
IRS worker - I wish to you that you have a good day, meet friendly people and are loved.
ReplyDeleteOld Guy - I wish to you that you find all the clarity and understanding that is necessary for your work.
My friend just got a "nice gift" from an IRS worker recently. Maybe they're coming to be a kinder gentler IRS. Well, I guess that is probably too much to ask but
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping something grand for both your IRS person and that of my friend, Wendy, as well.
