I didn't get to do the shopping Sunday night. I don't feel so hot right now, but that's not what planned my shopping for me. I didn't stay home because of anxiety or anything, I stayed home for actual, sensible safety reasons.
1. The rental car. I can drive just about anything, but I have never driven this vehicle and as you read on you will see why that played a roll in stopping me from having Sunday night be my first drive in it.
2. We had massive storms here that began Sunday afternoon. Things got rather serious here. Our power got knocked out for a while and some local streets began to flood. Since I often live in my own little world, I didn't really give a rip and I came out into the garage for a smoke. And then I heard what I thought was rolling thunder. Only it didn't stop. I know that sound and so I went back in the house and told the hus. Sure enough, a tornado touched down not too far north of here.
3. I can be a bit of a dumbass on occasion, and still MIGHT have gone to the grocery, except for the additional concern of driving on the donut tire that was so quickly and efficiently placed on the rental car by a crosstown service per our request Friday night. Long and irritating story, but even though this one gets kickass mileage, I can't wait to get my own goddamn car back. Cuz I'm crazy 'bout a Mercury. And I want it back. Now would be good.
You know what really sucks? My own personal stuff doesn't just up and leave because of parties or tornadoes. Matter of fact, shit like that usually just makes it worse. At least I remembered to take out the trash.
