I sent him a link to the last post. And I sent him the following note.

I’m sorry, but I am unable to continue with you until you get treatment for your obsession with medication. You need to find out why this keeps coming up as an issue for you. If it’s anxiety or OCD related, I’ve heard that Buspar might help. Don’t worry about the health effects, there are more drugs that can cover up those things. I’m sure a psychiatrist would be happy to treat you. Maybe we can make some progress once you are stabilized with medication. Let me know if you become able to respect the personal decisions of others without your obsession intruding.

  1. The sad part is - I mean it. I think the man has a problem because he can't seem to take no for an answer and I'm not sure how we can continue this way. It is retraumatizing for me and I'm done putting up with bullshit. I swear to god, the majority of therapists are probably some of the sickest people on earth.

  2. Imho: Medicine is another way of saying I've no idea how to help you but don't want to admit it.

  3. I would agree with that in this case, too, but I know he does know how to help because he did it in the beginning. The problem is -- it's uncomfortable for him. Maybe he's sitting on his own stuff and mine sets him off inside. Better just to drug my problem back into unconsciousness because it's too much trouble to listen to me and really be there. I guess he lacks the cajones.

I don't know why this only happens to me on your blog Lynn :)

I was just going to say that you are awfully, awfully brave to have done that. I'm proud of you for taking such good care of yourself and your needs.
    Awesome.

  8. Talk about retraumatizing! Geez - what part of 'no means no' do people not understand!?
I'm sorry you're in this continuous battle w/your therapist.
I agree with your comment that "the majority of therapists are probably some of the sickest people on earth." So much easier to ignore your own probs when you spend all day *trying* to help others with thiers...
